Barton Library Reserves

To request that a physical item be placed on reserve, please complete the Barton Library Reserve Form each academic year.

GTC instructors are encouraged to add physical resources relevant to their courses to the reserve collection in Barton Library.

  • Reserve items have altered loan periods and specific access restrictions and can be requested for delivery to any GTC Libraries location.
  • Placing important items on reserve greatly improves access to resources for a large number of students and helps your students locate essential course materials.

Accepted Materials: Library or personal books, textbooks, DVDs/videos or CDs, study guides, workbooks, study aids, kits/models, and photocopies of articles/chapters that comply with copyright laws. Library electronic resources can also be added as course reserves to improve student discoverability and access.

Time Frame: Items may be on reserve for one academic year or any other timeframe within an academic year. Permanent reserves are not accepted. All items will be inventoried each summer and a report sent to the requesting instructor. A new reserve request will be required for each reserve item before each Fall semester begins.

Loan Periods: The reserving instructor will help decide an item's circulation period and whether the resource may be used outside of Barton Library.

If you have any questions, please contact Lillie.Ruegg@gvltec.edu.
