Information for Faculty & Staff

Reserve Collection

Library reserve shelfLibrary staff maintain a collection of reserve items behind the customer service desk in each of our libraries.

Faculty are encouraged to add physical resources (books, videos, etc) relevant to their courses to the reserve collection.

  • Reserve items have specific loan periods and sign out restrictions
  • Placing important items on reserve greatly improves access to resources for a large number of students, and helps your students to locate critical materials.

Reserve Highlights:

  • Materials accepted: Library or personal books, textbooks, photocopies of articles/chapters that comply with copyright laws, DVDs/videos or CDs, study guides, workbooks, study aids, kits/models.
  • Time frame: Items may be on reserve for a semester, or any other timeframe within a semester. Permanent reserves are not accepted. All items will be inventoried at the end of Spring semester and a report sent to the requesting instructor. A new reserve request will be required for each reserve item before the Fall semester begins.
  • Loan periods: The reserving instructor will help decide an item's circulation period and whether the resource may be used outside of the Library.

To request that an item be placed on reserve, please complete the form below. If you have any questions, please contact Lisa Imber.
