Books by Mail

GTC Library patrons (students/faculty/staff) can request a max. of 2 GTC Library books to be mailed directly to their home. The checkout time is six weeks. Library staff will add a note to the patron's Library account that the books have been mailed.

Books can be renewed once for another 4 weeks. Directions for renewing online: https://youtu.be/D4m3BxHtSqU. Books can also be renewed over the phone; please call 864-250-8319.

The borrower is responsible for return postage, or returning the books in person to any GTC Library.

Restrictions:

Reserves, Reference items, and DVDs are not are not included in this service and will not be mailed
Only books owned by the GTC Library will be mailed.
Books cannot be mailed internationally.

Renewing Library Items

Visit the Library Content System
Click Menu in the upper-right corner (if you are on a mobile device, click on the "..."), then click Library Card.
Sign in with your GTC4me username and password.
Select LOANS on the page that opens.
Click "RENEW" next to each item you'd like to renew. If you would like to renew all your items, click on the box on the left next to each title, then click "RENEW ALL".

Not all items are eligible for renewal. For example, DVDs cannot be renewed. Please check the Library's circulation policy or contact the Library (864-250-8319) if you have any questions.

End-of-Term Due Dates

During the last four weeks of any semester, due dates on borrowed library materials may be shortened to become the last day of the semester. Students registered for the following semester may request to have the due date extended.

PASCAL Visiting Patron

The PASCAL Visiting Patron program allows current students and employees to borrow books in person at participating libraries. You may borrow up to 3 books for 3 weeks. To use this service:

Search the Library's collections for the book, choosing "Search PASCAL Delivers" from the search box drop-down.
In the book's record, scroll to "Other PASCAL Libraries", showing you which participating libraries have the book.
Present a valid GTC library card along with photo ID at the library that you visit.

We highly recommend that you call ahead to ask about policies and hours before making a long drive to the owning library!
