Barton Library offers several spaces to research, study, and complete course work.

Barton Library study rooms must be checked out using an active GTC ID. Study rooms cannot be reserved in advance, may be used for 2 hours at a time, and may be renewed in 1 hour increments as long as no one is waiting to use the space. Library staff will maintain a wait list if necessary for any time after the initial 2 hour use period. If a study room becomes available, the wait list will be used in order to fill the open room.  

Priority use is given to currently enrolled GTC students using the study room to access GTC Libraries’ resources and services and to complete academic course work. After students priority is given to: (1) GTC faculty and staff, (2) affiliated charter school students, and (3) community patrons including alumni.

No hot or odorous foods are allowed in study rooms. Cold or room temperature snacks and drinks with lids are allowed. 

All study room users must:

• Follow all GTC College and Library policies and procedures.
• Keep the doors closed and lights on when the room is occupied.
• Use a low voice and device volume to not disturb others.
• Be courteous to others using or waiting to use the room.
• Leave the room clean and neat with all trash thrown away.

GTC Libraries reserve the right to limit future use of the study rooms and other spaces if policies are violated.
