Greenville Technical College Libraries are currently seeking submissions for our second annual LGBTQ+ History Month Art Exhibition. This is a submission-based curated group exhibition featuring artists in the LGBTQ+ community.
Exhibition Dates: October 1, 2024 through October 31, 2024
The exhibition will be installed in the Barton Campus Library, located in the Beattie E. Huff Student Center - Bldg. 105.
Exhibition Opening Reception: Tuesday, October 1, 2024, 6:00-7:30pm.
Eligibility & Fine Print
The exhibition will feature work by visual artists in the LGBTQ+ community at Greenville Technical College, and from the greater-Greenville area. All forms of visual art including but not limited to sculpture, photography, printmaking, painting, drawing, or ceramic media will be considered for inclusion in the exhibition as follows.
- Maximum size is 3’ x 5’.
- Maximum weight for sculptures or ceramic works is 65lbs.
- Works must be professionally framed and use a wire hanger.
- Digital pieces are welcome, but must be printed and framed by the artist.
- Artists are responsible for delivery and pick-up of their work and will be required to sign a hold-harmless agreement.
- Once selected, artists will be compensated $50 per exhibited piece.
Works may be for sale. Patrons requesting information about the purchase of a work or a commission will be instructed to contact the artist directly.
Submission Requirements and Deadline
- Artists may submit up to three (3) images of pieces for consideration.
- Submissions should be a hi-resolution 300 DPI jpeg.
- An artist bio and headshot should also be included.
- Artist bios, headshots, and social media usernames will be published in the exhibition brochure.
- Artists will be asked to provide a statement for each piece selected for the exhibition.
- Artists with a current or former relationship with Greenville Technical College are encouraged to include that information with their submission.
- The deadline for submissions is Friday, September 6, 2024. Those artists selected to be in the exhibition will be notified via phone by Tuesday, September 10, 2024.
